We reached Batumi from Erzurum by bus to Hopa, shared taxi to Sarp at the border.
Then taxi from the border to our Batumi hotel.

Batumi looked great lit up at night.
Walking around felt safe.

The cable car was worth the 30 Gel return cost for views over the city and black sea.

Nuri park had sculptures but the highlight were the many turtles in and around the lake.
Across the road was another park with a Japanese garden and a bird zoo. Charming and free.

We stayed in the Beregi district which was filled with shops, restaurants and dodgy massage parlours.
