Erzurum bus stop and ticket office is opposite Migros supermarket, about 150m up from the railway station.

Ticket to Hopa cost 500 tl. First bus was small and very full.

Views as we descended through the mountains were superb for hours.
Toilet stops every hour.

After two hours we changed to a larger and empty bus.

Hopa bus stop outside a cafe by a bridge.

Under the bridge were many dolmus (share taxi).
We paid 50 tl for a ride to Sarp, the Turkey/Georgia border.

Border crossing was all under cover inside a building.
After entering Georgia we used ATM in immigration to get some Georgia money (GEL).
We could not get a SIM card there.

We could have taken a dolmus to Batumi, but it was raining and wanted to go straight to our hotel.
The taxi ride took 45 minutes as traffic was heavy and cost 40 GEL.

We got directions to Magti, mobile phone shop, and bought SIM cards
Cost was 19 GEL for SIM with unlimited data for 1 week.
Top up via My Magti app for more weeks cost 9 GEL per week.
