We crossed from Moldova and used Park4Nite to find a spot for the night in the huge shopping mall parking lot in Iasi which included a Carrefour hyper market. Amazingly good shopping, not so good for sleeping. At 11pm a loud rap on the side of the van and a polite but firm move on demand from the security guard.
On reflection we understood why. They had installed barrier gates and we would have been locked in. Not good for us and not good for them.
We drove for 30 minutes out of town, saw a couple of big trucks at a fuel stop, went in and using Google translate explained that we wanted to stay the night in their car park. The lady smiled warmly and said no problem. A peaceful night after a bit of a rude awakening earlier.
